Terms of service
Last updated 23 October 2026
1. These terms
StockDock is an app for Shopify merchants, provided by Florin Studios, South Africa ("we", "us"). These terms are between us and the business that installs StockDock on its Shopify store ("you"). By installing or using StockDock, you accept them on behalf of that business.
2. StockDock and Shopify
- StockDock works only with a Shopify store, and Shopify's own terms apply between you and Shopify. We are not Shopify, and Shopify is not responsible for StockDock.
- StockDock reads your orders, refunds, payments, customers, products, stock and locations from Shopify. It never creates or changes your orders. The only thing it writes to Shopify is the stock changes you make in it: deliveries, counts and transfers.
- If Shopify changes or withdraws something StockDock relies on, parts of StockDock may change or stop working. We will try to keep that from happening.
3. Plans, trial and billing
- StockDock is billed by Shopify, on your Shopify bill, in US dollars, at the price of the plan you choose. The plans and their prices are on our home page and on the app's Shopify App Store listing.
- Each store's first plan starts with a 14-day free trial. Cancel before it ends and you pay nothing.
- You choose, change or cancel your plan from your Shopify admin. Shopify handles the charges, and Shopify's billing terms apply to them, including any taxes Shopify adds.
- Charges already made are not refunded, except where the law requires it. When you cancel, you are not charged again.
- We may change our prices. You will be told at least 30 days before a new price applies to you.
- Without a plan, or once a plan has ended, StockDock is read-only. Your orders still get their numbered invoices, so your numbering never skips.
4. Your responsibilities
- Your documents. StockDock prints what you set up: your business details, tax registration, rates and numbering. You are responsible for checking that your invoices, credit notes and other documents meet the law where you trade, and for your tax returns. StockDock is not tax or accounting advice.
- Your customers. You are responsible for telling your customers how you use their information, and for having a lawful reason to hold it. Our privacy policy explains how we handle it for you.
- Your staff. Anyone your Shopify store lets open StockDock can use it. You decide who that is, in Shopify.
- Fair use. Do not use StockDock for anything unlawful, try to reach other shops' data, interfere with the service, or copy or resell it.
5. Your data
- Your shop's records are yours. You give us the right to hold and use them only to provide StockDock to you, as our privacy policy sets out.
- You can download your reports at any time. 48 hours after you uninstall, Shopify asks us to erase your shop's records, and we do. Save what you need first.
- We back up every shop each night, but you should keep your own copies of anything you must keep by law.
6. The service
- We work to keep StockDock running and your records safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. It may be paused for maintenance, ideally outside business hours.
- We improve StockDock over time. We may change or remove a feature. If a change takes away something your plan includes, we will tell you first.
- If we ever stop offering StockDock, we will give you at least 30 days' notice, so you can download your records.
7. Ownership
StockDock, its software, its design and its name belong to Florin Studios. These terms give you the right to use it while you have it installed. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely.
8. Liability
- StockDock is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we give no promises beyond those in these terms.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, lost sales or lost data you could have kept copies of.
- Our total liability to you for anything to do with StockDock is limited to what you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.
- Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that cannot be limited, including under South Africa's Consumer Protection Act where it applies.
9. Ending
- You can stop at any time by uninstalling StockDock from your Shopify admin.
- We may suspend or end your use of StockDock if you break these terms seriously, or if the law or Shopify requires it. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you time to put it right.
10. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version goes on this page with a new date. For a change that matters, we will tell you in StockDock at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using StockDock after that, the new terms apply.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and its courts decide any dispute about them. Before going to court, write to us and we will try to settle it together.
